Job Description:

TriStar Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Extern PRN for our Med Surg ICU. This role provides a unique opportunity for nursing students who are in the final year of their program to gain hands-on experience by working alongside experienced nurses and medical staff in a dynamic ICU setting. This per diem position requires flexibility in scheduling, offering a unique blend of challenging cases and advanced medical processes, particularly in surgical and critical care. Assist with daily clinical operations under the supervision of the registered nurse, including taking patient vitals, documenting medical information, and observing changes in patient conditions. Support the healthcare team in ensuring the comfort and safety of patients by providing timely communication and entrusted care. Participate in ICU rounds and multidisciplinary teams to discuss and implement patient care plans. Prepare and manage materials and supplies for procedures, ensuring adherence to sanitary and safety guidelines. Assist in the admission, transfer, and discharge processes of patients. Strong clinical skills and knowledge of patient care. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment. Good organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification preferred.
