This opportunity is located within our Ensign-Bickford Aerospace
& Defense Company business, a global leader of mission-critical
hardware and systems solutions including precision energetics
systems and innovative explosive solutions.Job DescriptionThe
Supply Chain & Logistics Manager will be responsible for managing
the Supply Chain activities for the Graham, KY site, including but
not limited to:Responsibilities:
- Manage tactical purchasing team responsible for Procurement for
> 100 low volume/high mix engineering development and production
aerospace and defense programs (> $30M in annual spend.)
- Procurement process including but not limited to supplier
request for proposals, assessment of supply base capability and
risk, supplier selection, win-win negotiations, compliance
documentation, supplier delivery management, conflict resolution,
final product receipt and quality verification.
- Ensure supplier Quality, On-Time Delivery and Cost KPI's are
achieved to support production and development manufacturing
program schedules. Develops action plans, working with poor
performing suppliers, and bringing them back into green
status.
- Manage Logistics/Material Control team responsible for safe
movement and storage of materials and shipping of finished goods to
customers and outside vendors.
- Ensure on-time distribution of supplier product to production
manufacturing operations.
- Perform kitting and oversees the cycle count program with a
goal to maintain > 95% inventory accuracy.
- Ensures that all regulatory requirements with respect to
purchasing, storage, and transportation of materials are adhered
to, including Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense
Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFAR), ITAR, AS9100D, Contractor
Procurement Systems Review (CPSR), ATF, DOT 49CFR, IATA and company
practices and procedures.
- Evaluate existing processes and procedures and lead continuous
improvement activities within the Supply Chain & Logistics
organization
- Employee development, coaching, and performance measurement of
Supply Chain personnel
- Support the Operations Director evaluating and pursuing
strategic change initiatives
- Analyze cost basis for change
- Recommend and lead capital projects in support of change
initiatives
- Participate with other functional managers in the
implementation of change initiatives
- Creates visual management tools and communicates department
performance and countermeasures via Gemba walksRequirements:
- The successful candidate must have a BA/BS or higher in supply
chain or other discipline. Masters' degree a plus
- A minimum of 8 years of tactical purchasing and/or subcontract
management and logistics experience, preferably, 2 -3 years of this
time in a supervisory role
- Professional certification - CPSM, CPCM or CPIM certification a
plus
- Experience in both low volume, development scale procurement
(R&D), up to low / medium volume production procurement is
desired
- Understanding of ERP/MRP planning and demand systems
- Strong skills in Excel, Word and Power-Point
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Excels in a collaborative, fast paced, team based work
environment
- Ability to read and understand drawings/technical data and
manufacturing processes a plus
