Date: 06/09/2025 This position is based in Nashville, TN. The
individual in this role will be required to be in the office
in-person a few days a week, and there is no option at this time to
be exclusively remote. Who we are and what we do:The Rural and
Community Development Division of the Tennessee Department of
Economic and Community Development (TNECD) is seeking full-time
federal programs grant administrator. The ideal candidate will have
a proven ability to work with a variety of stakeholders, manage
multiple projects with ambitious deadlines, and oversee grant
management and reporting systems. Responsibilities of the position
will include ensuring compliance with state and federal
requirements, overseeing federal grant programs, providing
technical assistance to grantees, and communicating with external
stakeholders as needed.Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee team of four (4) grant project managers who manage the grant projects for TNECD federal grants (particularly broadband and Community Development Block Grant)
- Manage the administration of special projects and assigned federal grant programs. This includes management of administrative activities, program application review, scoring, award, contracting, invoicing, monitoring, reporting, and data management.
- Serve as a technical expert on the fiscal, programmatic, and reporting requirements for federal grant programs, as well as aid in the implementation, development, and testing of those requirements in any grants management system that may be deployed by TNECD.
- Provide technical assistance and guidance to help communicate grantee responsibilities to grantees and administrators.
- Serve as TNECD's liaison to other federal and state departments for activities related to programs
- Author a Federal Program Uniform Guidance Document that aligns with TNECD agency specific process documents.
- Implement a program evaluation plan for assigned federal programs by collecting data and information from internal and external stakeholders to ensure transparency and thorough reporting on the program and progress toward program goals.
- Perform any other duties as assigned to support the overall
functions of the team.Minimum Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited university (required).
- At least three (5) years of experience with grant and/or fiscal management required, experience in federal grant administration strongly preferred.
- A willingness to be flexible and learn new things and embrace continuous improvement.
- A demonstrated commitment to meeting expectations at a high bar and history of getting things done even in the face of obstacles.
- Experience balancing multiple projects and deadlines and the ability to efficiently and effectively get things done with a high-volume workload
- A team orientation and willingness to contribute across team functions
- Ability to use computer technology efficiently including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel software applications
- Experience with deployment of a grants management system is
