Job Description:
Our office in Cairo, IL has an opening for a full-time (40
hours) Community Advocate in the R3- Restore, Reinvest, and Review
program. The R3 service delivery program is to promote violence
prevention and youth development activities in Alexander and
Pulaski Counties with a restorative justice lens that focuses on
improving the social determinants of health of community members.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or
related field. Qualifies as a Mental Health Professional (MHP).
Skills & Knowledge: Ability to maintain and successfully complete
training certification in evidence-based social and behavioral
skills curriculum; knowledge of local health and human services
resources; excellent written and oral communication skills; basic
computer skills. Special Requirements: Travels to
off-site/community based locations for direct service delivery;
resident of Alexander County or Pulaski County with background
knowledge of the area ; participates in after-hours crisis response
rotation; ability to schedule evening appointments; maintain and
provide proof of a valid driver's license; maintain and provide
proof of personal vehicle liability insurance; at least 21 years of
age; must complete required registry clearances and criminal
fingerprint background checks. Job duties include, but are not
limited to:Assists in the implementation and delivery of youth
Social and Behavioral Skills Training Groups in both school and
community settings.Assists in the implementation and delivery of
Parenting Skills Training Groups. Assists in the development and
hosting of Youth Advisory Councils.Assists in the planning and
implementation of Public Education Violence Prevention
Communication Campaign.Assists in the planning and implementation
of a Community Block Party.Assists with completion of pre- and
post- data collection, grading, and data recording for
reporting.Assists in the planning and selection of the R3 Community
Ambassador Scholarships.Facilitates comprehensive client care by
providing case management services and community support services
throughout the clients' stages of treatment with a focus on
engagement, care coordination, and discharge planning. About
