Cumberland Hall Hospital is a 97 bed, licensed, acute psychiatric hospital located in beautiful Hopkinsville, KY. Experience: Two years of transcription experience required. Prefer experience typing histories and physicals, psychiatric evaluations, progress notes, discharge summaries, letters, and memos. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, disease processes, signs and symptoms, medications, and laboratory values related to a specialty or specialties. Knowledge: Working knowledge of medical terminology. Must be able to read English and work with background noise and interruptions. Medical language specialist who transcribes and interprets dictation by physicians and other healthcare providers in order to document patient care. This position is also routinely involved in research of questions and in the education of others involved with patient care documentation. Release of Information Specialist: Audits, sorts and files copies of transcribed reports. Performs clerical duties in the Health Information Services Department. Responds to Release of Information Request in a timely manner. Follows and abides by Company policies, procedures, and Corporate Compliance Program, as applicable to role. Successful performance is attained by satisfactorily completing each primary duty daily. Complete transcription on a daily basis and file reports. Audit charts for items that need to be completed by the physician. Complete any and all other duties as assigned.
