Job Description:
Summary of Job: Supervises journeyman electricians and helpers
and the work performed in electrical functions, including planning,
diagramming, installing and repairing electrical systems, including
the conduits of tubing or pipe often required by local electrical
codes. Provides input on electrical plans being developed and then
handles implementation and maintenance of these systems.ESSENTIAL
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (include but are not limited to)
- Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic
wiring, equipment, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and
power tools.
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components,
using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a
breakdown and correct the problem.
- Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other
components.
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to
identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair,
and to ensure compliance with codes.
- Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in
electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices
such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and Megohmeters, to ensure
compatibility and safety of system.
- Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment
and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
- Install ground leads and connect power cables to equipment,
such as motors.
- Repair or replace wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using hand
tools and power tools.
- Work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs to install, maintain or
repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
- Bend or place conduit (pipes or tubing) on or inside designated
partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated
wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between
boxes.
- Fasten small metal or plastic boxes to walls to house
electrical switches or outlets.
- Perform physically demanding tasks, such as digging trenches to
lay conduit and moving and lifting heavy objects.
- Oversee the electrical journeyman and helpers to schedule and
complete projects in a timely manner.
- Must be able to handle stress and job demands.
- Must be able to cooperatively work with others.Skills and
Abilities:
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Ability to run conduit and wire.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues in a timely and effective
manner.
- Demonstrate proper sand safe use of tools and related
equipment.
- Ability to work and communicate effectively as an individual as
well as in a team environment.
- Ability to handle disruptions in stride with
professionalism.
- Ability to terminate devices.
- Working knowledge of installing electrical systems in a new
construction setting.
- Ability to lift, push, pull and move moderately heavy
objects.
- Ability to ascend/ descend ladders.
- Must be able to handle stress and job demands.
- Must be able to cooperatively work with others.
- Electrical Journeyman license strongly preferred.
- NCEER certification strongly preferred.Lee Company is proud to
