Milieu Coordinator

Cumberland Hall Hospital is a 97 bed, licensed, acute psychiatric hospital located in beautiful Hopkinsville, KY. Cumberland Hall features individual units for youth, adults and active duty military, and offers inpatient acute care, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient programs. On average over 1500 patients receive care from our compassionate health care team each year at Cumberland Hall Hospital.

Qualifications

Milieu Coordinator Requirements:

Position Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelors Degree in psychology or related field preferred.

Experience: Two years experience working with people in group situations with individuals who have mental health or developmental problems preferred. One year employment with facility required to serve as a mentor.

Licenses/Certificates: N/A

Must possess demonstrated leadership ability, the ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups and individuals, strong oral and written communication skills. The Milieu Coordinator must possess knowledge of therapeutic relationships as relates to adolescents, therapeutic processes, adolescent growth and development, limit setting and behavior management, crisis management of aggressive behavior and BLS American Heart.

The Milieu Coordinator have near visual acuity necessary for evaluating patients and reading charts. Eye/hand coordination and finger dexterity essential for manual charting. The ability to talk and hear is necessary for conversing with and assessing patients. The Milieu Coordinator must have the ability to stand/walk for long periods of time.

General Responsibilites:

The Milieu Coordinator works collaboratively with other nursing service personnel to maintain standards of practice and standards of nursing care. Must be knowledgeable of and abide by HIPAA regulations with regard to protected health information as defined by HIPAA and ABS. Uses and/or discloses on a daily basis verbal, written and/or electronic PHI in order to perform job duties, as pertains to (CLIENTS' FINANCIAL, DEMOGRAPHIC, AND/OR CLINICAL DATA) and/or (EMPLOYEES' FINANCIAL, DEMOGRAPHIC, AND/OR CLINICAL DATA). Environment requires adaptability to changes in temperature due to participation in indoor and outdoor activities with residents. Some risk involved in the event of aggressive/out-of-control patient behavior in a hospital setting. May include days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays Ability to communicate effectively; ability to meet travel requirements; ability to effectively utilize communication equipment; physical agility to manage patients (ambulatory, non-ambulatory and physically aggressive); repetitive bending, stooping and/or lifting; ability to drive a car/van and possess a valid driver's license.
