wellness of the mind, body, and spirit. Job Summary The Director,
Total Rewards & HRIS plays a critical role in managing and
executing compensation, benefits, HR information systems, and
payroll programs. This role ensures that American Addiction
Centers’ total rewards programs remain competitive, compliant, and
aligned with business needs while enhancing employee engagement. As
a member of the HR leadership team, this position will work closely
with the Chief Human Resources Officer, and other key stakeholders
to implement and refine total rewards strategies, oversee payroll
operations, and drive HR technology improvements. The Director will
provide direct supervision to Benefit, HRIS, Payroll, and
HealthStream. Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job

(Compensation & Benefits): • Lead design and administration of base
pay, variable incentive programs, and compensation structures. •
Monitor market trends and conduct benchmarking to ensure
competitive positioning. • Partner with brokers and consultants to
administer self-funded benefit plans and annual renewals. • Ensure
compliance with ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, and relevant federal/state laws.
Payroll Oversight: • Oversee payroll processing function; ensure
timely and accurate payroll in all jurisdictions. • Manage
quarterly and annual filings (W-2s, 941s, state-specific filings).
• Partner with Finance on payroll tax reconciliations, accruals,
and general ledger mapping. • Maintain audit readiness and ensure
controls are aligned with SOX-equivalent standards. HRIS
(UKG/UltiPro) Ownership: • Serve as system owner for UKG Pro
(UltiPro) and related modules (Payroll, Benefits, Reporting,
Onboarding, Performance, etc.). • Lead system optimization, user
permissions, workflows, role-based access, and security. • Develop
and maintain standard and complex custom reports (BI, Cognos, or
Analytics module). • Ensure integrity of employee data across core
HRIS and benefit interfaces. • Oversee setup and testing for open
enrollment, deduction changes, and carrier feeds. Leadership &
Governance: • Lead internal audits of HRIS and payroll processes to
ensure data quality and compliance. • Serve as HR technology
liaison to IT and external vendors. • Act as escalation point for
complex payroll, system, or compliance issues. • Partner with HR,
Legal, and Finance to align systems and policies with business
priorities. Employee Communication & Education • Develop and
deliver communication initiatives to help employees understand and
appreciate the value of their total rewards package. • In
partnership with the Benefits Specialist, develop educational
sessions on benefits programs, including health plans and
retirement savings options, to enhance employee engagement and
informed decision-making. Vendor Management • Manage relationships
with external vendors, consultants, and service providers to
support the delivery of total rewards programs and services. • In
partnership with the CHRO, negotiate contracts and manage service
level agreements to ensure the organization receives high-quality
services and cost-effective solutions. Continuous Improvement &
Industry Knowledge • Stay up to date on industry trends, best
practices, and compliance requirements related to compensation,
benefits, payroll, and HR technology. • Provide recommendations for
enhancing policies, processes, and tools to improve operational
excellence and employee satisfaction. Qualifications
Education/Experience: • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
required. • 8 years progressive HRIS/payroll/total rewards
experience; 3 years in a leadership role. • Expert-level
proficiency in UKG Pro (UltiPro) — payroll, reporting, security,
feeds, open enrollment. • Demonstrated experience managing
self-funded health plan administration. • Deep knowledge of payroll
laws, benefits compliance, and HR data governance. • Bachelor’s
degree required; CCP, CBP, or SHRM-SCP a plus. Physical
