The staff nurse/RN is responsible for total resident care for the assigned residents following established facility policy and procedures, federal and state regulations, and nursing standards of practice.
We are currently working 12 hours shifts.
Duties:
Major job functions include performing nursing tasks to assure resident needs are met. This includes: monitoring resident needs, condition and care; administering medications and treatments as ordered by the physician; orders and receives medications from the pharmacy; admits and discharges residents; oversees CNA staff; ensures narcotic policy and procedures are followed; reports changes of condition to Supervisor and physician as delegated; monitors for side effects of medication and reports PRN; ensures resident care plans are being followed.
In addition, the RN will transcribe and execute physician orders; completes documentation as required; completes fall reporting; reports any bruises, skin tears and abuse/neglect; gives report to nursing staff; follows and upholds Resident Bill of Rights and facility policies and procedures; maintains confidentiality and follows HIPAA requirements, etc. Provides excellent customer service and communication to all residents/families/visitors/MD's/ coworkers, etc.
Qualifications:
This position requires RN licensure with Tennessee Board of Nursing. Preference is given to applicants with previous experience in medical, surgical, or geriatric nursing. Must have a desire to work with the elderly. Must maintain confidentiality to ensure compliance with all HIPAA regulations.
