to find a qualified Med/Surg RN in Nashville, Tennessee, 37203! Job
Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Medical-Surgical
Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 08:00 - 19:00 Hours per Shift: 11 hours
Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RN License Certifications:
BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Able to perform basic patient assessments.
General care and maintenance of wounds, tracheostomy, ostomy,
drains, chest tubes, strokes, and seizures. Patient population may
require dialysis or PCA pumps. Only drip medication used is
Heparin. Post-operative procedures on the unit include amputations,
ostomy, drains, chest tubes, oral surgeries, and wound vacs.
Description: Unit has 36 beds. Patient ratios are 1:4 or 1:5.
Staffing description includes a secretary every day and PRN techs.
Type of equipment includes PD cyclers, Welch Allyn VS carts, Hoyer
lift, Broda chairs, and Alaris IV pumps. Documentation system
utilized is Meditech. Scheduling requirements specify 4 weekend
shifts in a 4-week block. Floating policy will apply. Patient
experience standards include bedside shift report, safety checks
every 1-2 hours, and a focus on communication and responsiveness.
Unit guidelines emphasize HAI prevention, CVC and Foley monitoring
with standard precautions, and fall prevention. 100% medication
scanning, including controlled substances, is required. Candidates
will be treated as core staff and held to the same level of
accountability and recognition for their work. Teamwork is
encouraged with a youthful group eager to enhance patient outcomes.
