is a nursing position in the Intensive Care Unit. The unit has a
total of 16 beds. Patient ratios are typically 2:1, and at times
may be 3:1. The unit has medical technicians, and a tech may be
staffed depending on the census. Types of equipment include
Impella, GE monitors, Temporary Pacemakers, EKOS, IABP, Artic Sun,
and hemodynamic monitoring. The documentation system used is
Meditech. The schedule requires 36 hours of work weekly. There is a
floating policy where staff may float in rotation with core
staffing. Required certifications for this position are BLS, ACLS,
and NIH. The dress code is scrubs of any color, and denim, capris,
or camo are not permitted. The unit has implemented a supportive
and teamwork environment. There is flexibility with scheduling.
Outstanding recognition includes initiatives like making blankets
for hospice patients and the Daisy Award. This position offers a
mix of experience with both day and night shift staff.
