Superior Caregivers is a leading provider of services and supports to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in TN and CO. The Superior Caregivers team includes executive leadership, administrative staff, board certified behavior analyst, program coordinators, and direct support professionals who are empowered, well-trained and ready to support IDD people in our community. Our team is committed to providing person-centered services and supports so that the people we support live the lives they envision.

The Associate Director of Supported Living is a pivotal role that oversees all aspects of the Supportive Living Program and prioritizes the health, safety and well-being of the youth and ensures professionalism and safety of staff delivering residential supports and services. This includes meeting with participants, families, guardians, and other key stakeholders to explore opportunities and deliver quality services. The Associate Director of Supportive Living is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Supportive Living Program including management of Area Supervisors, Program Coordinators, House Managers, and Direct Support Professionals (DSP), leads expansion of new residential homes, and works closely with other Directors to ensure all aspects of the programs are met. Additionally, this position is responsible for coordination with the necessary parties to bring in new residential intakes, deliver quality services, and maintain operational and financial stability within the program.

This Associate Director will have a "work from home" office but is expected to have a presence in the 4 Supported Living homes we currently have. Directors may also visit corporate office as needed but it is not required at this time. Additionally this position requires open availability to handle emergencies as needed. A robust management team is currently in place within the supported living program.

Possess leadership and problem-solving skills with the ability to respond to problems/crises in a calm demeanor and independently guide management personnel in doing so.

High ethical standards with analytical ability and good judgment operational focus.

Ability to take initiative and work independently, take ownership of projects as well as being a dedicated team player in fulfilling agency outcomes

Solid computer skills with ability to write/format letters, memos, and develop appropriate program related forms.

Independent in problem-solving and decision-making in well thought out ways.

Ability to accept feedback and know when it is appropriate to ask for guidance or clarification.

Strong communication skills, both verbally and written, and basic knowledge of family dynamics and methods for crisis intervention.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities (included, but not limited to):

Maintain confidentiality at all times, to include adhering to HIPAA laws.

Understand and respect the rights of all youth in services.

Ensure that service is delivered in a caring and respectful manner, in accordance with relevant company policies and industry standards.

Follow and exemplify the company's vision, mission, and values.

Provide quality services to people we support.

Be responsible for the health, safety, and emotional support of the youth we serve.

Protect the people we serve from abuse, mistreatment, and neglect.

Provide excellent customer service with a person-centered approach.

Operate company vehicles in a safe, courteous, and reliable manner, occasionally in light inclement weather.

Complete initial and on-going assigned trainings per company policy and licensure requirements.

Maintain open communication at all times. Be clear, concise and give all relevant information to appropriate parties in a timely manner.

Monitor to ensure all follow-up action items resulting from Serious Incidents and/or Abuse/Neglect investigations are implemented as instructed.

Participate in SIR review committee and present/review Incident Reports for the youth on your caseload.

Maintain overall awareness of SIR occurrences and trends in your program and intervene as needed.

Use proactive and positive behavior support strategies to prevent and de-escalate problematic behaviors.

Oversee the implementation of safety and risk management protocols within the residential homes to promote a safe environment for residents and employees.

Monitor safety and risk management protocols and implementation to ensure compliance.

Maintain accuracy and completeness of program specific files. Collaborate with Compliance to ensure documentation is complete and adequate for audit purposes.

Maintain ongoing, accurate documentation of direct reports including performance issues, trainings, and acclamations.

Assist with the implementation of new company policies and procedures, as assigned. Maintain knowledge of company policies and serve as a resource to staff to ensure understanding and compliance.

Know your program and have current program information on hand or easily accessible.

Attend all relevant meetings/committees as assigned.

In conjunction with other department heads, establish and review employment and administrative policies and procedures for all functions of the organization; on a regular basis to ensure operational and program excellence.

Multi-task and prioritize on-going goals and tasks.

Create and maintain an organizational culture that values trust, innovation, integrity, respect, and professional growth among employees and leadership.

Fill in for all positions you either directly or indirectly supervise, as needed.

Implement and maintain the overall components of the residential program, such as administrative duties, clinical services (medical and behavioral), transportation, budget, operations, education, health/safety, high-quality service delivery, programmatic success, etc.

Build and develop the company's reputation in alignment with our vision, mission, and values to become an agency of choice.

Advise leadership on appropriate policy knowledge, procedural developments, etc. to ensure informed decisions are made for overall organizational excellence.

Directly responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing program specific policies in accordance with state and federal regulatory agencies.

Attend and actively participate in Child Family Team Meetings (CFTMs), court, professional calls, etc. as needed.

Participate in the on-call rotation - this may involve picking up a child from school, responding to crisis, accompanying a child to hospital, maintenance requests, etc.

Report to and work closely with the Executive Director (ED), or designee, to increase overall visibility and profitability of the residential program throughout assigned state or region.

Be a subject matter expert for all rules and regulations that affect your program.

Establish and ensure the implementation of procedures consistent with state laws and regulations for youth in DCS custody and people with developmental and intellectual disabilities.

Monitor all program expenditures to ensure the program is staying within provided monthly budgets. Prepare monthly summaries to provide overall snapshot, as well as explanation for any budget discrepancies and extraneous purchases.

Collaborate with direct supervisor on staff compliance, e.g., training, documentation, etc.

Responsible for assigned direct reports' performance management and disciplinary action in accordance with company policy.

Ensure supports are delivered in a caring and respectful manner, in accordance with relevant company policies and standards.

Assist personnel with problem-solving and decision-making in both a crisis and day-to-day operations and help develop their skills to complete these tasks independently.

Ensure performance evaluations are periodically (per company policy) completed for all direct reports and track due dates to ensure all are completed in a timely manner.

Identify employees for promotion/advancement opportunities.

Identify the professional and clinical skill development needs of employees, provides assistance, and training as needed.

Perform unannounced supervisor visits to the supportive living homes to ensure staff, home, youth, and overall program needs are being met on a regular basis.

Collaborate with direct supervisor to handle complaints from the people we serve, providers, staff, and others who interact or have relationships with the company and conduct investigations as necessary to determine accuracy of statements and address any follow-up/retraining issues with personnel.

Continuously evaluate program effectiveness and report status to direct supervisor with insights on what is working/not working with recommendations on ways to improve.

Monitor customer service standards and duties performed by employees, ensuring that they understand and follow rules and regulations of the program, and are acting in accordance with the company's person-centered values.

Provide on the job training to residential staff and retrain staff if discrepancies are identified.
