Job Description:
Position Summary The Governor’s School mentors serve as
co-instructors, tutors, and resident assistants for the high school
students participating in APSU’s Governor’s School for
Computational Physics. The APSU Governor’s School will meet
continuously from June 1, 2018, through June 22, 2018.
Availability: Up to 6 positions effective May 2018 FOAP :
230718-46601-61400-200 Essential Functions - Availability from May
15 to June 22, 2018. - Ability to reside in the Governor’s School
dorm and act as resident advisor for the duration of the program. -
Ability to travel with and participate in scheduled day trips with
the students. - Ability to serve as a positive role model both
inside and outside of the classroom. - Ability to communicate
effectively in person, over the phone, and via e-mail. - Ability to
maintain confidentiality. - Ability to maintain excellent
organizational skills and attention to details. - Ability to attend
training sessions. - Ability to interact in an effective and
appropriate manner with diverse populations, the University
community, and the public. - Ability to coordinate and direct the
activity of others. - Ability to use sound judgment in
decision-making. - Ability to formulate and execute complex tasks.
- Attendance and punctuality are essential to this position.
