Position Summary Tri-County Upward Bound attempts to improve the academic and social skills of rural, disadvantaged high school students who are potential first-generation college students. The Saturday Writing Instructor position is a part-time, three to five- hour per month assignment beginning September 2017. FOAP : 220718-49107-61400-300 Availability: 1 position effective September 2017 Essential Functions - Ability to effectively utilize computer technology. - Ability to communicate effectively in person and over the phone. - Ability to use sound judgment in decision-making. - Ability to maintain confidentiality. - Ability to interact in an effective and appropriate manner with diverse populations, the University community, and the public. - Ability to interact in an effective and appropriate manner with rural, economically disadvantaged high school students. - Ability to communicate mathematical operations and concepts clearly and effectively. - Ability to demonstrate excellent organizational skills and consistency with administering discipline. - Ability to teach concepts using a variety of instructional techniques in order to accommodate different learning styles. - Attendance and punctuality are essential to this position.
