Job Description:
Custodian- Part Time Position Responsibilities: Performs
general, routine custodial duties, to include dusting, mopping,
vacuuming, cleaning restrooms, and restocking supplies. Empties
trash receptacles, disposes trash into dumpsters, and bags trash
for proper disposal. May assist with minor maintenance, such as
replacing light bulbs, adjusting furniture, or other similar
activities. Performs routine maintenance to custodial equipment and
supplies. Reports needs and concerns to appropriate staff. May
assist with unlocking or locking the facility. May assist with
interaction with vendors related to maintenance issues. Other
duties as required. Work Schedule/Availability: This is a part-time
position of approximately 20-25 hours per week. Must be able to
work weekdays, with occasional weekend hours. Work hours are
negotiable. Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience as
custodian, janitor, housekeeper and/or maintenance person required.
Competencies: Ability to read cleaning instructions. Ability to
differentiate between cleaning products and uses. Contribute to a
positive work climate with a pleasant attitude Demonstrate respect
and professionalism in interactions with co-workers, vendors, and
students. Physical and Mental Requirements: Physical Requirements :
This job requires considerable physical activity. Constant (up to
100%) standing, walking, pushing, pulling, balancing, stooping,
kneeling, crouching, twisting, reaching overhead, reaching forward,
Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 59 pounds. Requires normal
physical mobility, including the ability to sit and stand for
extended periods of time, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.
Normal hand-eye coordination; arm, hand and finger dexterity
required. Environment: Work environment may involve moderate
exposure to elements such as dirt, dust, fumes, or unpleasant
odors.
